Blog #3: The Honor Code of MBA and The Constitution
The Honor Code of Montgomery Bell Academy and the Honor Code stated within the Constitution of the United States are both very similar, containing only a few differences. In both Honor Codes, individuals under the jurisdiction of the code are taken upon oath that they will not act unjustly. Instead of pledging not to cheat on homework or tests though, officials in the government must pledge not to act corruptly for personal gain and must pledge not to lie to the American people or act against the beliefs withheld in the Constitution and the minds of Americans. Unfortunately, breaking of both honor codes occur regularly and with no end in sight. Hopefully, people subject to either honor code will act justly and not betray the tradition upheld for centuries.
